We are excited to present this incredibly rare 2001 Toyota Grand Hiace Living Saloon EX camper van for sale. Positioned at the premium end of the coach builders 2001 lineup, this rig was fully built and assembled in Japan. It features real wood cabinetry and finishes that deliver exceptional build quality along with a cozy, and modular interior!. With only 68,000 original miles and presents like it has much less, you would be hard-pressed to find a comparable example, let alone one in this immaculate, like-new condition.

Imported from Japan earlier this year the van is highly original, thankfully leaving all of the Recvee craftsmanship intact. It has recieved a host of service and maintenance since arriving. Paired with service records from it’s life in Japan, it is positioned well to be turn-key and used for the season.

The van chassis is a 2001 Toyota Grand Hiace Long Wheeblase VCH28 – This was Toyota’s larger Granvia / Grand Hiace chassis as they left the factory primarily used for commercil and recreational applications. It is powered by the legendary and powerful 5VZ-FE, Toyota’s 3.4 Liter V6 Gas powertrain, paired with an A340 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a full-time 4WD system that distributes power 50/50 to the front and rear wheels. The center differential is mechanically regulated by a viscous coupling—the exact same robust system found in the US-market Previa All-Trac. It is exceptionally capable in snow, gravel, mud, and low-traction conditions.

The camper portion features a brilliant design that maximizes both passenger capacity and versatile use. The middle row is on full length sliders allowing both seats to slide forward and backwards to different seating positions and 1st floor access. Seating for 7 belted passengers in possible! These benches also remove with ease, allowing for a variety of different first floor uses.

The lower floor transforms into a large bed. Above it, the cleverly bunk sleeps two adults when in place. It also be fully removed, and the hardware for it cleverly stows away in the various built in floor storage compartments.

The mid galley complete with a counter top with lower and upper storage and a hidden stainless sink plumbed to 20 liters of fresh water and 20 liters of grey water storage. It also houses a factory Webasto gas heater for use when camped, a hide-way single burner stove top, newer panasonic TV and DVD player. Switches for all of your coach appliaces and lights are located both up front in the driver overhead as well as in the back on the galley compartment. Various real solid wood cabinetry above and below offers plenty of storage space. Powering the onboard coach systems is the newer double marine battery setup. For off-grid camping in cold weather, it features a premium Webasto gas heater that plumbs directly into the vehicle’s main fuel tank. Interior curtains all around and 50/50 sliding windows on the first level, and upper bunk windows with screens and sliders further add to the comfort.

These high-tier Grand Hiace Class B builds are becoming nearly impossible to find, especially with such low mileage.
